Same thing happened to me. Luckily, my SO was more level headed than my "the sky is falling" routine. The bezel or trim ring in the sink unscrews on my model. We were able to unscrew this ring and get at the stopper mechanism to pry it up. After stopping/unstopping several times, it looks like it's working again.

Vessel sink drain causes poolin of water.

YOU ALSO HAVE A VENT ISSUE, THE VESSEL SINK DOESN'T HAVE THE LITTLE HOLE IN IT LIKE A VANITY SINK, THERE FOR THE WATER IS GOING DOWN THE DRAIN BUT THE AIR CAN NOT COME OUT, YOU NEED TO INSTALL A STUDOR VENT OR AN INLINE VENT INTO THE DRAIN BETWEEN THE WALL AND THE TRAP CUT IN A TEE AND BRING A PIPE UP TO THE BOTTOM OF THE COUNTER TOP AND INSTALL THE VENT, USALLY HAVE TO PUT A FEMALE ADPT ON THE TOP OF THE PIPE THE VENT COMES WITH THREADS DO NOT GLUE IT IN PLACE, THEY HAVE A RUBBER FLAPPER THAT OPENS WHEN THE WATER IS GOING THRU THE DRAIN AND ALLOWS IT TO PULL IN AIR THEN THE FLAP CLOSES WHEN NO WATER IS RUNNING TO KEEP THE SEWER SMELL OUT

I have a glass bowl sink in my bathroom. The pop-up drain is stuck in the down position and will not release. How do I fix it??

You'll need to access back side of sink bowl and locate drain mechanism, most likely either the plunger rod has loosened up from clevis rod or clevis rod is positioned to far in towards drain line causing it to bind. Check diagram for assistance in locating parts. Is the plunger rod tight or loose? You can also loosen clevis screw and see if the plunger rod will slide freely. If it does try moving the horizontal pivot rod up and down, while doing this you should she your drain plunger moving up and down. If it does not then most likely will need to replace plunger mechanism by removing the retaining nut on the back side of the drain line. This will allow you to disassemble the actual drain plunger but I would definitely start with the mechanism of the stopper and clevis where it attaches to horizontal rod.Sounds like a simple binding. Always be sure there isn't anything stored under your sink which could be causing the problem. Sometimes the most obvious is the last thing we look at.Good luck.

Existing vessel sink is stuck to polished granite vanity top. We want to replace the sink with a different one but can't get the sink to release--we originally used silicone adhesive and have tried wedging a putty knife under to cut the bead but it is not releasing, any ideas?

Silicone is an excellent adhesive once it is fully cured. I would not try to pry it off but I would suggest that you take the blade out of drywall or utility knife and carefully try to cut through it. It probably will take several cuts to get the old basin free but thats the only way I can think of to do it without damage to counter top. Hope that helps. Thanks

I have the Decolav 1201 SS sink under-mounted to my granite counter. It appears that I need a special drain as none of the ones I saw available are for sinks that are the thickness of stainless steel only. Most seem to be for sinks that are more than 1/2" thick where the drain is connected. So, anyway, I bought one and used some rubber gaskets to fit it securely to the sink, but now I see that the last inch of the water left in the bowl will not drain quickly. It drains fine until that last inch. Am I missing something?

Did you add the rubber gaskets so they are on the underside of the sink? If they are on the underside of the sink, then I think you're modification is a good one, and I'm not sure the gaskets are the cause of slow drain. Not sure what would cause the last inch to drain slowly. Now, if the gaskets are inside the sink bowl (i.e. visible from above) and the drain tube is elevated up from the base of the sink bowl, then there's is a likely source for the problem...Regards,DIYpro
