What steps are required to remove delta single hande shower?

We plan to remove old shoer wals and install tile base and tile walls. When I remove the handle, does the water need to be turned off? We will need water on for the rest of the house while this project is in demo and install.

I have a delta tub shower faucet with a pull-out diverter. The model is "Delex" by Delta as stamped on the cover plates. I have not had any luck finding a replacement diverter. Neither Delta U.S nor Delta Canada represetives are familiar with this type. The faucet has two handles spaced 8" apart with the diverter in the middle. Also, it appears the diverter is frozen into the rough-in and nothing for a socket to "grab" onto so removal of the diverter has been a problem. Removal of the hot and cold valves went well and they were easily replaced by the Delta RP1740 valve assemblies. Any advice on identifying a replacement part for the pull-out diverter and how to remove the old one would be most welcome.

Take the details to a plumber supply shop ( where the tradies get their parts ) and discuss the problem with them it is very possible that there are other makes that will fit in the holes to replace the delta unit

I have a single handle Delta shower faucet with only a trickle of water coming from the shower head pipe. I removed the parts from the valve housing and cleaned them. Put the all back and still have no water flow. There is a lot of water flow from the valve housing when pipes were flushed. Valve installed. No flow.

Check the placement of the valve,, it may be 180 degrees out,, also,, try it with the shower head off, it may be clogged

I have a single -handle Moen Torrance 87480 kitchen faucet that needs the cartridge replaced. (I had Moen ship it to me.) My problem is, I can't remove the single handle using my 3/32 allen wrench. When I had problems last week, I emailed Moen asking the size of the allen wrench required since none of mine worked. I've tried using the 3/32 allen wrench I purchased to remove the handle and am still having problems. I'm turning the allen wrench counter-clockwise endlessly and it will not budge. I'm trying to avoid the cost of a plumber since I'm unemployed. I've done this countless times on a Delta faucet. This is my first attempt with a Moen.

I've read that the screw takes a 7/64" allen wrench. That would explain why the 3/32 (equals 6/64") wrench slips.

Hi. We have a Danze "UPC" single-handle shower faucet. Our shower head is dripping, and when I removed the faucet cover plate, and screwed in (what I assume are) the cutoff values on the left and right of the faucet, the dripping stops. This means, I think?, that the faucet itself is causing the leak. I removed all the faucet hardware I could, and now I'm looking at a cylinder with notched gears at the end. I can't unscrew the cylinder, at least not by hand, and I'm not even sure if I should, but I assume that I would need to in order to fix the problem. My questions are: Should I use a wrench to loosen and remove that cylinder? Is this a washerless faucet and, if so, what part(s) would I need to replace to fix the drip? Any help is appreciated!! Thanks!

It's likely a cartridge faucet and that cartridge usually pulls straight out, and is replaced as a unit. you're close to the finish line, but may have more work to get that cartridge out. some of them have special pullers.

I HAVE A DELTA SHOWER /TUB FAUCET THAT IS LEAKING. I KNOW HOW TO FIX THE LEAK BUT THE HANDLE WILL NOT COME OFF. I HAVE UNSCREWED AND TAKEN OUT THE HEX SCREW THAT HOLDS THE HANDLE ON. I HAVE PULLED, WIGGLED TO TRY AND GET THE HANDLE OFF WITH NO SUCCESS. IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I'M MISSING. DO I HAVE CALCIUM BUILDUP SO BAD THAT I CAN'T REMOVE THE HANDLE? WHAT NEXT?

Calcium build up can adhere just like cement and cause sticking of the trim handle for faucets and showers. Hardware stores do sell handle pullers, but in my experience all you need is a rubber mallet and CAREFULLY hit the handle towards the wall(again carefully not hitting the wall). (This is assuming that your handle has a lever just like the one in the picture you've shown). Hit the lever towards the wall and give it a pull with your hands and repeat this till you get a little play. Once you get a little play, you just have to wiggle it till it comes out. Another tip is to spray the stem area with WD-40 and letting it sit for awhile making sure you wipe off the excess from dripping. Hope this helps.
