Delta pull-up bathtub drain problem

I have Delta pull-up bathtub drain that is broken. I can see that the pin is missing that holds the drain stopper up when you turn it clockwise. How do I take this apart to fix? I can screw the knob off that pulls the stopper up, but can't get the actual stopper off. It just freely spins left or right.Any solutions to my problem? Thanks in advance.

Delta pull-up bathtub drain problem

Hi Bigoz, Drop the drain plug down about half way and try turning it counter clockwise. If you get no resistance after a full turn you will probably need to cut or break it out. If the pin is missing I'm guessing this is what you'll have to do. This answer assumes you have a lift and turn style drain. Please ratre this response and Good Luck, Phil

Bath tub drain

You need to replace the overflow cover with the lever on it.You can replace the entire piece or just the faceplate. There is a spring on most of these that holds the lever in place when thrown and that is the piece that is broken causing your issue. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I have a Delta push down bathtub drain stop, but it is worn and does not stop the water. It does not unscrew as far as I can see how do I get it apart without removing the tube which I can not do?

There are two types of tub drain stoppers for the delta brand - lift & turn and toe tap. Lift and Turn: The lift & turn stopper for the bathtub unscrews counterclockwise while in the full up position. Toe Tap: The toe tap stopper does also but if the cap may unscrew from it before the entire stopper comes out. In that case, there is a nut that is now exposed and can be accessed to unscrew the assembly. If either of these is "spinning" without unscrewing, the threads are stripped and you would need to exert upward pressure while unscrewing in hopes of uncoupling this from the bath waste. If that doesn't work you would have to unscrew the bath waste flange from the drain pipe. This will require access under the tub. I hope this answer the question for you. Thank you for using FIXYA. Shower faucet does not switch to hot.

Hi,This has happened to me in the past and had exactly the same symptoms but with a different valve. Before trying the below, it may make sense to be 100% sure that hot water is definitely getting to the valve .. can you get access to touch the hot feed pipe to make sure that it is in fact the valve at fault. The following could be the issue:1. The shower valve has a bit of dirt or gunk in it and is unable to allow the hot water through. It can happen with a very small amnount of dirt and is a real pain as it requires disassemble of the entire valve assembly.2. The valve has failed and needs to be replaced - This was the solution to mine and was also significant in terms of effort.Hope this helps, if so please leave feedback, if not let me know and I'll try and help some more!
