I have just replaced 2 out of 3 hardwired smoke alarms with First Alert AC plus battery backup detectors. The old one is about 30 years old along with the two new ones. What happens is when I plug them all in to ac current they all go off. So I unplugged the old one and it stopped. Do I need to replace the old one with the new one too to make them all compatible. Or is there something wrong with the wiring

If they are all thirty years old, Id replace them all. You can try first by giving the old one a good cleaning. Get a can of air and thoroughly spray in and around the smoke. You can also remove the cover and use q tip in alcohol to clean it well. If that does not correct the problem, replace the last one.

New fill valve streams water out the top nozzle

Hello llettieri, You did NOT include ANY NOMENCLATURE... (make, model) of or relating to your new or old valves... So all you are going to get is YES... GENERICALLY... there are SMALL tube configurations where there is a controlled water port that is open toward the BACK of the tank... (other than the main supply) No... NOT DEFECTIVE. In every CASE where I have seen them... The NEW VALVE INCLUDED a hose & clip to shoot that water down the tank overflow. Since the toilet is essentially UNUSABLE with that port open... SCAMPERING back down to the PLUMBER'S SUPPLY and your receipt seems to be your only OPTION. If possible... I would recommend the UPGRADE as... (in my opinion) it makes for a cleaner & fresher TOILET BOWL.. (it does cost a wee bit more water). or ALTERNATIVELY explain why you prefer to scrub more often... and go for the EXACT VALVE you previously "enjoyed". Pressure at 15 psi after backwashing

No that is normal pressure, when the pressure rises more than 10 psi over that in a 24 hour time, you should backwash the filter. Hope this helps
