Toilet seat is loose! This is a quick release toilet seat with buttons on the sides. Once the seat has been removed I would like to tighten the plastic bolts but have been unsuccessful. Is there a special tool for this?
Yourtoilet seat is typically linked to the toilet with two plastic bolts and twonuts below. In the front of the cover, take a small screw driver and find alittle notch made to allow you to pry up the cover. Pry both of them up. Centerthe toilet seat on the toilet. Look closely at the plastic bolt head and decidewhich screw driver would fit. Use a large screw driver, otherwise the bolt willnot turn or it will slip. Turn the screw driver clockwise as pictured fromabove. There usually is a nut with a wing attached to prevent the nut from turning,so it should tighten. If the bolt keeps turning without tightening up, placethe small pair of pliers underneath, where you feel the nut and lock onto theend. Once you have turned the bolt several times, the wing on the nut willprevent it from turning anymore so keep screwing until it is tight. Push downthe covers and they should click closed.
