Take the knob off and rotate 180 degrees and put back on. Just take the knob off, turn 180 and screw back on. New stems many times are in the half way position from the factory. You are not the first this has happened to. My answer assumes you just changed out the cartridge. Please rate this response and Good Luck, Phil

We have a home that is 3 years old. We never used the 3rd bathroom shower until today. We have a Moen single knobe shower/bath valve. To get water from the faucet you pull the knob out. To adjust the water temp - Left for hot and right for cold. When rotated to the left for hot the water shuts off. When rotated to the right we get only cold water. Could the valve be installed wrong or could the cartridge be installed wrong? Kevin

Remove handle to gain acess to the temperature limit stop. Remove handle and pull out handle adapter kit and next there is a dail that can be adjusted to control the water to balance the temp. It could have been installed wrong, pay attention to where it is now and pull it back to it disengages out of the stem and move it counter clockwise a little and reinstall. Put handle on and test water for correct movement. Go to link below for a part's diagram if needed. TO ORDER PARTS CALL: 1-800-465-6130 www.moen.com

The shower is the typical round knob with hot (turn left) and cold to the right. Just moved in and noticed the water in the ''hot'' position is only luke warm. Took off the knob and controlled the cartridge with pliers and this gave me full hot through to cold. Noticed that the cover over the cartridge has a screw and small metal plate that keeps the knob in position. It also stops me from taking of the large round decorative cover with the red / blue markings. Could the problem be with the cartridge or simply the position of this small block of metal that is on a slot. Clearly there so it can be adjusted?

Hi, The problem you have is with the temperature adjustment on the valve. You were close to getting it and all you need is the instructions to help you get there. Go here and then page down to the PDF's and then check out the instructions for your faucet. It gives detailed views and instructions for you. http://www.bathroomfurnituredirect.com/Moen-2352-MOE2968.html Remeber to go down to the attachments part of the page near the bottom. I hope that this will help you to solve your problem! Thanks for using Fixya!! Heatman101

I'm not sure what brands my faucet or handles are.

You can remove the center (Diverter valve) without turning water off, Will need deep well socket. Check the o rings and or washers and replace or take valve to Home depot to match with new. If you can't find one there go to local plumbing supply or ace. I turn hot then cold on and off real Quick while the valve is out just to clear anything that might be in lines. stand to the side or you will get wet! You might want to get new hot and cold valves while your at it just make sure to turn off water at meter before you remove them.

Can't take a bath!

The diverter can become clogged with mineral deposits. The handle will have to be removed to gain access to the diverter. The diverter can then be disassembled as necessary to determine what needs to be done to free it up.

Moen posi-temp for shower pressure

There is a little "o" ring in the shower inlet that is designed to collapse as the pressure increases, limiting flow. You can safely remove this and then have un restricted flow.

I cannot get the water hot enough and maitain the water pressure. The groved thing in center (after removing all hardware and sace plate) is missing the red/blue clips. I am a complete novice and don't even know the names of parts ie like euschueon or whatever. I am desperate..I am tired of no pressure or not hot enough. How do I adjust the groved thing and with what and which way do you turn it...left or right and how much? I have tried adjusting the left and right screw...when I set them both there is no water flow..just trickle...so I slowly adjust each with the shower on and cannot get the correct balance of pressure and hot enough...my water heater is at max and the water in kitchen and sinks is very very hot...so do I adjust the groved thing in the ceter which just happens to be missing any colored clips..and what do I use? HELP

Water is either hot or cold

Yes, the valve should be close at the downward postion. and the water should be clod to hot from left to right. open the handle and pull out the cartridge. make sure the valve body is installed right side up. if it is, insert the cartridge with the lock pin on top. reinstall the handle.
