Problem installing new toilet bolt covers.

As I unscrew the nut from the toilet bolt, it will unscrew to a certain point, then the nut/bolt begins to spin. There's not enough room to hold the bolt with needlenose pliers and unscrew the nut. Can someone help? Thanks.

We just remodeled out two bathrooms about 3 months ago. We bought the Jacuzzi Perfecta toilet for each bathroom. When we first installed them we noticed that when you sat on the seat it would slide off the base. We tightend the hardware as much as possible and it still continued to do the same thing. I went to Lowes (where we purchased the toilets) and bought metal screws and bolts for the toilet seat instead of the plastic ones that it came with. STILL is not working. My husband took the whole seat off and he believes the hinges on BOTH of the seats are what is causing the problem. I would like to contact the manufacturer to see if they would send me two new seats. I find this very strange that both toilets are having the same issue. It is very frustrating ecspecially since these are brand new. Please help -

You need to use lock nut bolt and screws so it doesnt looseing by its self.

Old crane toilet, leak between tank and toilet, need new gasket.

You might try looking in an hardware store, or a plumbing shop that has been in business for a long time. Sometimes they have parts that can't be found elsewhere. I would take the old seal with you, if you still have it.

Problem installing new toilet bolt covers.

Unthread the nut as far as possible, then tighten it one full turn. Cut off the top with a hacksaw or dremel grinder and re-try. The bolts are cheap. A small jewelers file may help. Look for the damaged thread and remove the burr.

American Standard Elongated toilet bowl water level slowly drops

The tank holding the proper amount of water is a good sign. The inside of the stool is like the GOOSE NECK under you sink. It always holds water. This may sound like a bit of a hassle to do but if all 3 toilets are identical, here is what you can try if you are a bit handy. Go to the hardware store and purchase 4 toilet wax rings with a plastic flange and a few sets of toilet floor flange bolts(they are cheap and you can always return if not used, as It is better to have xtra parts on hand). Turn off the water supply to the "Mystery Toilet". Leave the tank and everything connected to the stool. Flush the toilet and remove all excess water from the tank and bowl. This can be done with a shop vac, sponge or towel. Disconnect the water supply to the tank. Remove the bolts holding the stool to the floor and carefully remove toilet. Scrap off all the old wax from the floor flange and bottom of stool. Now go and repeat this proceedure to one of the toilets that is working properly. In other words Switch the "Mystery Toilet" with a "Working Toilet" and see how they react. If the working toilet does it in the same bathroom and the "Mystery Toilet" does not do it in the other bathroom then you probably have a VENTING PROBLEM. If the "Mysery Toilet" Does it in the other bathroom then you most likely have a Defective Toilet. This Job is best done by 2 people, as it can sometimes be challenging to center the new wax ring on the toilet flange. Reconnect to the floor and reconnect water supply to the tanks. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN BOLTS to the floor flange as you may crack the toilet. All drain lines must be vented properly for water to flow. If you are curious check out drain venting on the internet. Also, sometimes a vent can become obstructed with debris, ice, bird nest, etc.. I would 1st check the vent on the roof visually and then have someone flush and listen. If you believe the vent is clear....Then do the toilet switch and go from there.....Hope this helps and Happy Holidays....Joe

Toilet Refills Every 15-Minutes

I have minute amount of leakage into the bowl causing mold to grow. I believe that it may be the rubber seal for the flapper body to the porcelain.

Toilet Flapper drops too soon and causes incomplete flush. Replaced with new red Korky, and adjusted chain tighter AND looser.

Does the flapper valve have a float (foam circle) on it? The little float attaches to the chain and slows the closing of the flapper, it is adjustable.

I have a problem with the water in the tank leaks past something, maybe the flush valve assembly and the tank has to refill about every 25 min. I got a new flush valve assembly and changed it and put blocks over the clamping bolts and tightened the nuts so water won't leak out and set the tank filled with water on my work bench to see if it would leak. The tank sat for 3 hours with no leaking. I mounted the tank to the toilet base and only tightened the nuts on the mounting bolts tight enough so water didn't leak out. I filled the tank with water and turn the water source off to try and simulate what I did on my work bench. And within 10 min the water leaked out to the point were the flush valve would fill the tank again. Its not leaking out the mounting bolts or the tank fill valve. I don't know what's going on. I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do. Is there anyone there that can try and diagnose the problem. Or is this a common problem with this style of toilet. Is the tank flexing just enough when the mounting bolts are tightened to warp the tank & flush valve assembly and let water go past? I have a American Standard Cadet 3 toilet with a 3" flush valve. The tank model 4021

Hi keithn60... I had the same problem one time with my toilet tank, the answer is to put some silicone on the seal washer between the take and bowl assembly and to use a level on the tank to tighten it just enough to be level and not leak. Please take time to rate me

Installed a new Kohler model K 4350-0 floor mounted elomgated toilet with no apparent problem. Installed a Sloan Regal flushometer with no apparent problem. I have no leaks, and it appears to flush normally, water is rinsing down from all around the insides of the toilet bowl. The whirlpool effect is going on in the toilet bowl as normal, but no debris is flushed down the toilet. The water level in the bowl never deviates. Once the flush stops you do hear water running in the toilet for a couples seconds.

2 possibilities. 1) The diaphragm in the Sloan is for a urinal. (1.0gal vs. 1.6gal);2) Not enough water. (stop partially closed, supply undersized)
