Macerator leaks badly

Hi ya, the macerator will dispose of most stuff, providing its within the manufacturers requirements. The unit is made of stainless steel so it should be ok, however the seals are made of neoprene & according to the amount of perm solution put down the unit, especially as its quite acidic, so it could be leaking due to the seals being eaten away by the perm solution etc. My advice would be to dilute the solutions as soon as you put them in the unit & run water so as to make sure it doesnt sit in the unit. But however my professional advise would be to dispose of it down a suitable drain point. If you look on the saniflo website they will direct you to a service engineer in your area Kindly Richie

How can I minimise the smell of my macerator - Saniflo 002/005/007 Saniplus Toilet with Macerator Series Pump in White Elo

The pump has a 1/2" breather hole and an 1 1/2" vent connection. The unit must be vented to the open air using the 1 1/2" vent connection, air must flow in and out of the vent pipe at all times. The 1/2" breather hole is only used for European installations. In the US you must keep it plugged or seal capped, if left open odor will emmit through there.

From top of lid there is a separate 1 1/2" ventilation pipe make sure it's installed and pipe/fittings are undamaged, fittings are all tight and secure. Vent is free of debris. Leaking Seals. Inspect lid Gasket for damage and deterioration, Replace with new gasket if damaged or deteriorated. Check all connection to ensure tightness, Lid tightly, Pan Gasket, hose/pipe fittings tight and secure. I hope this helps in solving your problem, please rate the helpfulness of the answer. It is blocked how do i unblock it - Saniflo 002/005/007 Saniplus Toilet with Macerator Series Pump in White Elo

Turn off electricity to saniflo.Turn off water to toilet (normally an inline valve). Empty toilet bowl and cistern of water. Remove toilet, cistern. Disconnect inlet pipes to saniflo (careful as backed up water will flow out!). Take out Saniflo (outside is normally good). Open up top with star driver and use a flat blade for the plastic retaining flaps.Be sure to wear rubber gloves to keep out germs from cuts etc on your hands.Cover mains cables with plastic food bag and tape up. Use a solution of bleach / warm water, fill up the sanifo and leave for a while. Swish around and empty into a drain etc. I also use a hosepipe to make sure I get it really clean (esp under motor and float switch). Also check inlet pipe flappy bit and the actual pipes that connect to the sanifloGood luck
