Triton Electric Shower Temperature too hot

You could have mineral deposits on the temperature probe inside of the unit. If you remove the heater and purchase a bottle of lime and scale remover (lime away) to put inside of it. Let the unit sit full of water and chemicals for 24 hours. Flush out the unit to remove any residue. You may see the water is brown if you have a lot of buildup. Reconnect unit and test your settings. If this doesn't work, install a anti-scalding device, available at a plumbing supply store.

We are having issues with getting hot water in our shower. The water in the sink is very hot, but the water in the shower gets a little bit hotter than warm. I have read that on some fixtures there is a setting inside the knob that can be adjusted for hot water. We moved into a home that was built in the 40's so the fixtures in the bathroom are older. As far as I can tell they do not have the adjuster in them. They are the type that has a hot water knob and a cold water knob (there is not a brand name anywhere on them). The hot water heater has been adjusted so that is not the problem. Any suggestions?? I am dying to take a nice hot shower.

Check the mixing valve. It is most likely plugged up on the hot side.

We have a home that is 3 years old. We never used the 3rd bathroom shower until today. We have a Moen single knobe shower/bath valve. To get water from the faucet you pull the knob out. To adjust the water temp - Left for hot and right for cold. When rotated to the left for hot the water shuts off. When rotated to the right we get only cold water. Could the valve be installed wrong or could the cartridge be installed wrong? Kevin

Remove handle to gain acess to the temperature limit stop. Remove handle and pull out handle adapter kit and next there is a dail that can be adjusted to control the water to balance the temp. It could have been installed wrong, pay attention to where it is now and pull it back to it disengages out of the stem and move it counter clockwise a little and reinstall. Put handle on and test water for correct movement. Go to link below for a part's diagram if needed. TO ORDER PARTS CALL: 1-800-465-6130 www.moen.com

Warm water in shower and cold in sink

How long has this been like this? Have you replaced any faucets, or have you installed a new water heater recently?

I have a moen shower faucet. Previously I was getting only hot water or only cold water But when you quickly twist the knob a clunk type sound would come from inside the wall and then we were able to get warm water. the faucet was also leaking so I replace the cartridge and now I only have hot water. I have tried to take the cartridge out and fiddle around with it but it does not change. I suspect there maybe Some other type of valve that is stuck The faucet is old and we have a well system at home Can I take the guts of the other valves out and perhaps just bypassed the systems all together

It's hard to say without seeing it for myself, however, it seems to me that you have a Moen Shower Faucet with an anti-scald feature called positemp. You need locate the screw on the cartridge and loosen it, while adjusting the dial clockwise or counter-clockwise with your fingers and tighten the screw back up. Clockwise for warmer, counter for cooler. Also check to see that your cartridge was inserted properly.

Thank you for reading this. I am a non-technical home owner. I have a Groge Atrio shower with a thermostat mixer in the wall. The water does not get hot enough so I need to adjust it upward. Do I remove handle from stem then faceplate at shower wall and then have access to the thermostat mixer? I suppose then there is an accessible adjustment valve where I can increase the relative hot water flow? thanks.

You didn't mention what model you have. Here is a link to their web site. You can download a manual, that has detailed instructions on how to adjust. You should have a thermometer to measure water temperature to adjust properly. Go to : http://www.groheamerica.com You can identify your model, and then download the technical product information. Also check the temperature of other faucets in the house to be sure they are getting hot enough, and not a water heater temp problem.
