Sounds like you might need a gear puller -- hardware stores would have them -- or auto parts. Spray with contact cleaner wd-40 first, then install puller, depress ring and crank away at the puller.

I have a a problem with my shower arm adapter. I have an odd size "Ball head shower arm" and the adapter needed to be replaced. I purchased one from Ace Hardware, but it is just a tad too small. The Price Pfister ball head shower head adapter is 1 inch at the top and 1/2 inch where the shower head attaches to it. I measured the opening of the old adapter and it is slightly over 1 inch...almost looks like 1 1/8 inches and 1/2 inch at the bottom. Do you know where I can find this odd sized ball head shower head adapter. The one I removed must be 25 years old. Thanks!!!!! Comments: - I bought it online at "acehardware.com". The package says: MODEL: PF1C Ball Joint Shower Arm Adapter for Price Pfister

Were the measurements given taken with a ruler? If so, they will need to be converted to pipe size. Is it possible the 1 1/8 size on the old adapter actually measures 1 3/8" when including the wall where the threads start? If this is possible, then the pipe size needed would be 1" NPT x 1/4 NPT (Nation pipe taper). 1/2 inch ruler would be 1/4 pipe size also. Just a thought.

What is the part number of the new part that was slightly too small? I'm just wanting to look it up to get a "Picture" of what, exactly, you are looking for. :-)
