We recently bought a house as is and there is a nice Aqua Glass jetted tub and I was so excited and could not wait to try it out, then when I filled it with water and pushed the little white button it only makes a humming noise nothing comes out of the jets. Is there anything that I can do to troubleshoot it myself or am I going to have to pay an arm and a leg to have repairman come out??? I have some access to the motor it is mounted under the back of the tub. HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

Aquglass jet tub will only humm no bubbles out of none of the jet

When a motor hums, it usually is the result of what is called "locked rotor." This can occur when the motor's brushes remain on one pair of the commutator contacts. The magnetic field does not shift to the next set of windings and the rotor is locked in place by the unchanging magnetic field. If you have access to the motor, turn on the power briefly and place your hand gently on the side of the motor. Probably you will feel the vibration of the hum you are hearing, together with some heat. In locked-rotor condition, the motor draws high amperage and heats up quickly. Turn off the power. If this is the condition, the motor is shot and needs to be replaced. You should copy down the information from the name plate (model and serial number, manufacturer, horsepower, amperage, etc.) and contact the manufacturer or a local appliance parts store about a replacement. As you said that you recently bought the house, you may have a home-owners warranty which may cover the appliance.

Aqua glass jetted tub quit working

Hello. There are two reset buttons in the mechanical space or your tub. You should be able to access that area from the front by removing a few screws. it is not uncommon to have to push those reset buttons after a power outage. If you do need a repair I recommend that you call a store that sells hot tubs as they will have a technician on staff or be able to guide you to one. Regards, Joe PS kindly rate my answer as helpful.

Aqua Glass whirlpool, Indulgence collection, pump turns on and works briefly, then jets stop.

First of all, what you have is a WOW pump that has an E-switch for a control. There is a knob on the top lip of your tub that you turn a 1/4 turn to turn this pump on/off. There is a small circuit board inside the box on top of the motor. This is likely the source of your problem. Here is your biggest problem. That little circuit board is not made anymore. We have the e-switch but you will be better off changing out the pump (which you have to do anyway) with a new WOW pump with an air switch and change the switch on the top lip of the tub to an air button which will turn the pump on/off. Jets don't work in the jetted tub.

First the obvious, most are electrically connected to a ground fault device, ether an outlet or a breaker. BEFORE ADDING WATER, check these out to make sure they are not tripped. Most all tubs have a minimum water level which must be reached before the jets will operate. This is usually a piece of trim located above the depth of the jets. Make sure the tub is filled to cover this part. If you cant identify the water level device fill the tub so that all the jets are covered by an inch or 2. Some tubs have push button switches or touch pads to control the motor, some have touch sensitive trim. There may be some sort of medallion from the maker on the tub, simply touching it will start the tub. Once you get it going most tubs have a built in timer that turns off the pump in 15 - 20 minutes. For more tub time just hit the switch again but keep in mind that extended exposure in a hot tub can mess with your blood pressure and cause you to loose balance or pass out, hence the 20 minute timer.

Difference between acrylic and fiberglass

Acrylic is a solid sheet material that is heated and vacuum formed to the desired shape. It is then reinforced at the back with fiberglass to give it strength. It is a higher-end material, very durable and super easy to clean. Fiberglass is a material that adheres to a mold and then a gelcoat finish is sprayed onto it. The most common material used in tubs and showers and is the most economical. Cast iron tubs are forged and the finish is applied in powder form while the tub is hot causing the finish to melt onto the cast iron. Synthetic tubs are molded and then a gelcoat finish is applied like the fiberglass tubs.
