Pool pump won't shut off

Help. My pool pump won't shut off. It's on a timer but when either the timer goes off or when I push the control button manually, the pump just keeps running. The only way I can get it to stop is to physically cut the power to the pump. I don't know if I have a problem with the pump, with an electrical switch, or if maybe there is a pressure or obstruction issue causing this. I'm at work so I don't have the motor specs with me but I belieive it's a Pentair. I pulled the top cover and I remembere seeinig a Magnetek 9949 capacitor on top of it.

My pool pump doesn't shutoff

It would appear that the contactor switch that feeds the pump is hanging up. Try tapping lightly on the contactor within the control panel. Tap it with a wooden hammer handle and see if it releases. Also make sure that the exciter wire is not staying live while the switch is moved to the off position. When you turn the breaker back on and the pump starts without the switch being pushed you definatly need a new contactor.

Jacuzzi Pump I just purchased a home that has a Maxx Hydromax whirpool. The previous owner states it hasnt worked in years and that the pump is bad. Anyway to confirm this, when I fill the tub the pump kicks on for a moment then shuts down, some gunk comes out with each attempt, what do you suggest? I also get a C01 code if this means anything?

The gunk coming out is algea built up in the pipes. There is an online remedy to clean it out.The quickest way to check the pump is to fill the tub above the water sensor (if your tub has one) its a little silver button near the top of the tub, unplug the pump from the control box and plug it in to an outlet. This is only possible if it a 115 volt system!!!! If the pump works, then the problem is in the control box. Call in a reliable pro to do that job.

Jacuzzi not so cuzzi. Could it be just the heater?

There are usually two breakers for a hot tub. One sends power to the heater and another sends power to the big pump. Be sure both breakers are turned all the way too off and then turn them to on. Next look for a reset button on inside of the jacuzzi which may have to be reset. good luck

Pump wont shut off - Saniflo Home

Hi, You need to check the following: Nothing connected to the saniflow is running e.g. tap dripping, ball valve in toilet cistern stuck/faulty Any of these faults will cause the saniflo to run continuously. If none of these are visible then there is a chance that a flow switch is stuck or faulty within the unit. I would carry out the checks first then call in an expert to service the unit. I hope this helps.
