Coleman Powermate PM0545007 generator. A significant leak has developed at the point where the fuel shut-off valve connects to the fuel tank. The valve is mounted in a large rubber plug that fits into the fuel tank. That plug has become loose and gasoline leaks out freely. I've tried to press the plug firmly into the tank, but without success. Can you tell me if there is a way to secure or replace that rubber plug? The parts list for this generator shows the shut-off valve and the fuel tank, but does not show the rubber plug. Thank you for your assistance. [email protected]

Water comming outof the smal air intake valve on top of tank

Check the shut-off valve on the tank to make sure it's shutting the water supply off as it should. If the tank has a mechanical arm(the flush lever), check it to see that it is allowing the shut off valve to completely shut the water off.

Overflow tube have replaced fill valve and flapper. done dye test and no water from tank to bowl. fill valve will not shut off no matter how it's adjusted. tried two of them. no water from tank to toilet, not overflowing overflow valve but leaking out somewhere??? and tank doesn't empty over night when water shut off. what...is....happening?

If you manually pull up on the float of the fill valve will it then shut off? If it does, most likely your water pressure is too high, should be around 60 psi. More then 80 and it won't shut off. You may need to add a restrictor to the fill valve. Most fluid-master units come with one already installed, you could try one of them.

I just installed a Gerber Avalanche toilet, a two-piece unit. There are 2 rubber pads that are supposed to be placed between the tank and bowl at the very rear of the unit "to prevent china-to-china contact" according to the instructions. However, when tightening the nuts to draw the tank down tight, the front of the tank touches the bowl when there is still about 1/8" of space between the rear of the tank and the rubber pads. There are supposed to be three points of contact: the rubber pads and the flush valve washer. But the tank never touches the rubber pads. I thought maybe since this toilet has a 10" rough-in that it needed to be installed differently so I put the pads where the front of the tank touches the bowl. I tightened it up and the toilet works great with no leaking. However, if you sit down and lean back, the tank really flexes backward! Obviously the pads go at the back, unfortunately the tank can't go down far enough to touch them without touching the bowl first.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.you really have to tighten down the tank more, lean right on the tank, tighten, then lean left on the tank, tighten.I tried to help you. Water keeps running, toilet not shutting off totally, tank will fill then we have to pull up float and hold it a while to stop water, doesn't overflow, just keeps running, doesn't shut off completely, need check valve or fill valve or flow valve or seat valve, found some numbers, tank 1167.10 and k3400TB, lid 8919 13 K4546 date 5-13-75

Hi snowjobs847... Try resetting your float level to a lower water level in the tank, the extra pressure put on the seal may make it reseal. If the above did not work: You need to replace your "ballcock"...the ballcock (inlet valve) is non-repairable, has to be replaced with a new one if you cannot get it to stop leaking. The shut off valve for the water supply to the toilet failed. I attempted to shut it off because the flush valve assembly in the tank failed. The water shut off to the toilet that is in the basement is really old and not turning. I had to shut off the main valve to the whole house. It seems the flush valve assembly should be pretty easy to replace but what about the valve for the water supply to the toilet? Is that a job for a plumber or could I attempt it?

You can buy valves and fittings at Home Depot and other repair stores that do not require any torching. They only require tightening. Measure the widths of the lines going into and out of the valve and go to the store and tell them that you want a compression fitting valve with the appropriate dimensions. Good luck!

I recently installed new fluidmaster fill valve. Now when i try and turn valve from wall on the water flow from valve shuts off before i can get valve all the way on. Even if i turn it on slow it will still shut off at same point of turn as before. Why? I even installed a new 1/4 turn valve on wall after problem but it still does the same thing. Do i have a water restriction or something blocking the new fill valve that i installed in tank?

You have a water restriction, a fluid master can be taken appart it has a cap on top that will pop off that conceals a washer where water comes up. First turn water off and remove cap and barely crack valve and flush out with cap and washer out just look at it good so you will know how to put it back together. That way it let you know if the valve is where the problem is. You could take supply line loose from bottom of tank and turn valve on run some in a container to flush out any trash in line.

The top of the fill valve should be removed, and then turn the water on at the stop. (wall valve). Be sure to place a bowl, or even your hand over the top of the valve as water will flow out the top. This should free any debris that got into the fill valve when it was installed. You should only need to do this for 2 to 3 seconds to free the blockage. If this does not work, I would conclude that the fill valve is defective. Hope this helps.

Toilet tank looses water over time

As long as there is no water leaking from the tank to bowl connection, you are OK. You would know if it was leaking here, because you would have water dripping out onto the floor. Verify that the water level in your tank is below the top of your new flush valve's overflow tube. If the water level comes to the top, it will overflow into the toilet bowl. This can be easily fixed with an adjustment to the fill valve. If the water is not overflowing into this tube, then the only way you can lose water is through the flapper. You said you changed the flush valve, which would have come with a new flapper attached to it, but maybe buy a new flapper and see what happens???
