Guide :Home : 3386-6 Rialto Skylight Round Front Toilet

I have a 10 year old Rialto model with a elongated bowl. When I flush the toilet the flapper will just not seat itself properly. The sides of the flapper don't grip the rectangular over flow snugly. That causes the the float part of the flapper to not seat itself., Water keeps leaking into the bowl. I've bought Four kohler flappers from Furgueson and 3 Korky flappers from Home Depot and nothing seems to work. Actually I have 2 rialto toilets and they both leak. I have 1 San Raefel toilet that works great. Had it for 10 years. Can you help, it's driving me crazy. [email protected] Phone 702 3634480 Las Vegas

Can't install new Kohler rialto Flush Value

First things first, remove the fill valve, and the flush handle mechanism. This will give you plenty of room to work with the flush valve. Before installing flush valve lubricate tabs with plumbers grease. Now put on a pair of work gloves, pushed down very hard and turn the tabs should slide easy because of the grease. Remember do not alter the gasket, the gasket needs to be compressed to do its job. I know removing the fill valve and the flush handle seems like a pain, but there is no way to get your hands in the proper position to install the flush valve assembly.

My Toto Toilet Flapper no longer works, one of the plastic bars that hold the flapper has broken so the flapper does not seat correctly. What to you recommend to fix this problem

Many local Hard Ware stores such as Home Depot or Lowes stock replacement parts that may be compatible. Turn off the water, drain the take and remove the piece and bring it to the hardware store to find a replacement part. Failing that get the OEM part through a TOTO dealer ordered in. Cheers,

Rialto toilet flapper pulled to left and does not seat

The pull mechanism can be replaced with a universal one. This isn't a free thing but there are several different length's. Pull yours out [ simple to do - unhook - use a pair of pliers and remove the large nut inside the tank and remove]then take it and compare with a longer one. - Or there is a chain extension if you want to go that route. Best of it

I have an Eljer 141 0220 toilet. The the tank leaks into the toilet and every so often the water runs to refill the tank. Initially, I replaced the flapper. That did not work. I then replaced the following: flush valve with a new flapper (2nd one) , tank to bowl gasket, and tank bolts. The toilet still leaked so I took it apart again and made sure the flush valve and all connections were tight. They were and there were no external leaks any where. Unfortunatley the tank still leaks slowly into the toilet bowl. Any suggestion on what my next step should be?? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I had one just like that where the overflow tube that the flapper connects to was cracked. It sounds like this is the only part you have not replaced. The flapper may not be seating onto the inlet either. If you replaced the flapper with a cheaper version of flapper, some new ones will even leak.

Jacuzzi Era elongated seat attachment

First need to buy the longer oval seat so it sits correctly at the front most mounting screws are universal-- go buy thin rubber washers and trim and place between the hinge and bowl than tighten down this will stop slippage but the front if not correctly sitting on the bowl will still cause problems

The Rialto toilet makes it very difficult to replace the seat as you cannot access the wing nuts which in a moment of engineering genius you put inside the bowl I have already purchased a French seat to replace the broken one but it is not easy to get the old seat our or secure the new one

You should be able to remove the tank lid, reach into the cistern and find submerged at the bottom towards the front of the toilet the plastic wing nuts, hold onto these while tightening the plastic bolt from the top.I have a Kohler toilet with a similar design, not sure if it is this exact model but they look very similar so I hope this works for you.

Just installed the cadet 3 and here is what is happening. First let me say that the toilet it replaced was working good. The water filled very slow and the bowl would not fill much. I messed with the fluidmaster valve as per directions and it did not help. I then replaced it and now it fill quickly, so that part is fixed but the bowl does not seem to have enough water in it (the tank is full to 1/2" below overflow tube) and when you flush it the flapper closes so fast it does not let the tank empty completly. I have adjusted the chain every way possible and even pulled it by hand all the way up and it still slaps closed before the tank is empty. So the 2 problems now are not enough water in the bowl and the flapper slaps closed to quickly. Remember this is a brand new toilet.

The amount of water in any toilet bowl is determined by its construction and no tank adjustment will ever change that. American Standard has a history of having small water surface areas in their low or ultra low flush toilets. Take a large container of water and pour directly into the bowl. If the ending level remains the same, then that is the manufactured level for your toilet. Not all tanks completely discharge all of the water when flushed. Measure 1.5 gallons of water into a container. Turn off your water supply to the toilet then flush normally. Replace the water in the tank with your premeasured amount and observe this new water level. You might be surprised to find it is at the same level it always is. Since water weighs more than 8 pounds per gallon, one concept used in todays toilets is to have more than 1.5 gallons of water in the tank and use the extra weight push the water past the flapper at a faster rate while designing the flapper to drop after only 1.5 gallons have passed through.
